Through the generous support of our donors, The Global Animal Welfare Fund has been able to make a significant impact on numerous animal shelters. Below, you'll find a detailed overview of the shelters we’ve supported, the amount donated, and the projects that have benefited from your contributions. Wildcare Australia Inc.

In December 2019, we proudly contributed $3,000 to Wildcare Australia to support their bushfire appeal. This crucial funding helped provide immediate relief and care for wildlife affected by the devastating bushfires, ensuring that many animals received the medical attention and shelter they desperately needed.

Koalas in Care inc.

During the same month, we donated $2,411 to Koalas in Care, also for bushfire relief. This contribution was vital in aiding the rescue and rehabilitation of koalas injured in the fires, helping to restore their health and safeguard their future in the wild.

We continued our support for bushfire-affected wildlife with a $2,000 donation to Koala Rescue Queensland. This funding played a key role in rescuing and treating injured koalas, providing them with the care they needed during a time of crisis.

Coalition For The Protection Of Racehorses

In November 2020, we raised $2,200 through a Melbourne Cup fundraiser to support the Coalition for the Protection of Racehorses. This donation bolstered their efforts in investigations, research, public awareness campaigns, and political lobbying, all aimed at exposing the harsh realities of horse racing and advocating for the welfare of racehorses.

Cranky's Farm

We were thrilled to donate $2,000 to Cranky’s Farm in December 2020, aiding their efforts to secure a 2.7km perimeter fence. This essential infrastructure ensured the safety and security of their diverse residents, including cows, donkeys, goats, pigs, and chickens.

Head Over Hooves

In April 2021, we provided $5,000 to Head Over Hooves to build a large animal shelter for sheep and goats. This generous contribution facilitated the creation of a safe and comfortable space for these animals, enhancing their quality of life.

​June 2022 brought another $4,000 donation to Head Over Hooves following flood damage to their shelter. This support was deeply appreciated and crucial in easing the financial strain of veterinary bills, feed, and bedding, allowing them to focus on recovery.
 

Villa Kitty Bali

June 2021 saw us supporting Villa Kitty Bali with a $5,000 donation to help build a new shelter and hospital for stray cats in Bali. This funding significantly improved the care and rehabilitation facilities for these vulnerable animals.

Wombat Awareness Organisation

In January 2022, we proudly donated $3,000 to Wombat Awareness to help build a new orphanage for wombats. This initiative was a result of a company-wide vote, reflecting our team's commitment to supporting wildlife in need.

Happily Heifer After

We responded to an emergency flood appeal in March 2022 with a $4,000 donation to Happily Heifer After. These funds covered the cost of repairs to animal enclosures, fencing, food, veterinary care, and medicine, helping the sanctuary recover and continue their vital work.

In August 2022, we contributed $3,000 to Happily Heifer After's caged hen rescue and rehoming program. This donation helped cover veterinary care, medicine, and rehabilitation for rescued hens, ensuring they received the best possible care and a chance at a new life.

​

May 2023 saw another generous $5,000 donation to Happily Heifer After, this time to help build a new horse shelter. This support provided the necessary materials to create a safe and comfortable home for their rescued horses.

Where Pigs Fly

In April 2023, we donated $8,000 to Where Pigs Fly for the construction of a special-needs animal shelter with a fenced paddock. This funding was essential in creating a dedicated space for their blind cows and sheep, ensuring they receive the care and protection they need.

​In June 2024, we once again supported Where Pigs Fly with a $4,000 donation. This time, the funds helped them cope with increased animal feed costs and the maintenance of their shelter, ensuring they could continue providing excellent care for their animals despite rising expenses.

Dimmocks Retreat Wildlife

Our most recent donation in June 2023 was $6,430 to Dimmocks Retreat Wildlife for the acquisition of a DJI Mavic 3 Thermal Drone. This advanced equipment will enhance their Wildlife Emergency Response Team (WERT) capabilities, supporting their vital rescue operations.

World Of Angels

We donated $10,000 to World of Angels in June 2024, based in China, to support their shelter that rescues dogs from the street and meat trade and gives them a much better life in state of the art open shelters. The grant money supports their ongoing costs of food, vet bills and labour.

Rescue Paws

On-going Support 

In addition to these donations, Global Work & Travel has been paying for the full-time vet salary for Rescue Paws, the street dog charity in Thailand that we co-founded, for the past six years. Furthermore, the directors personally donated $20,000 to purchase a new vehicle for Rescue Paws, ensuring that their rescue operations can continue smoothly and efficiently.
