At The Global Animal Welfare Fund, our mission is fueled by compassion and driven by action. Born from the founders of Global Work & Travel's deep-rooted love for animals, we envisioned a world where every animal, no matter how small, has a chance at a better life.

Witnessing firsthand the dedication and passion of these shelters, we knew that by providing financial assistance, we could help amplify their impact and reach.

As our vision expanded, so did our reach. We aspire to extend our support not only across Australia but also to animal shelters worldwide. Our goal is to be a beacon of hope for animals everywhere, ensuring they receive the care, love, and attention they deserve.

How We Help
At The Global Animal Welfare Fund, our mission is to make a meaningful impact on the lives of animals in need. Here's how we fulfill our mission:

Project-Based Support: We actively seek out animal shelters that require financial assistance for specific projects or are facing financial difficulties.

Direct Funding: We provide direct financial support to these shelters, ensuring that funds are allocated based on their specified project needs.

Minimal Overheads: Our organisation operates with minimal overhead costs. With a volunteer board of directors and no paid staff, nearly all donations received go directly toward supporting animal welfare projects.

Volunteer Board of Directors: The fund is managed by a dedicated volunteer board of directors who generously donate their time and expertise to ensure the efficient operation of our organization.
​
Fundraising Initiatives: We utilize various fundraising channels to generate support, including our partnership with Global Work & Travel. Customers have the option to donate to us on the Global Work & Travel checkout page, and for every international flight purchased through their travel agency, Global donates $25 to GAWF.
​
Staff Engagement: We engage our staff through fun events where they can contribute by donating money to GAWF, fostering a culture of compassion and support within our organization.
